I finally went and bought my new laptop from the NUS IT Co-Op store today!
This is the Acer 4935G, the latest model that just came in. It’s probably the most powerful and feature-rich laptops among all those available at the NUS store, and unlike its’ predecessor, the Acer 4935, the keyboard layout and design isn’t ugly. In fact, in comparison to the 4935′s overall design (which I hated, even though I liked the technical specs), the 4935G is so much better that I would probably have gotten it anyway, even if it didn’t have such good specifications. And since I bought it from NUS, it comes bundled with Windows Vista Business, Office 2007 Professional, and the new Adobe Creative Suite CS4 software packages… all free of charge. Now I can install and run Blender as well, which would help me learn it faster rather than being forced to use my office computer all the time.
Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day playing with my new high-tech toy.

Had a look at one of these today and thinking of buying it.
I like the small size and design. Have read some bad things about Acer support but I guess people are more likely to write about bad experiences.
If I could get it with all that software free I wouldn’t hesitate!
